For a first pair, go with something less killer. Like 2 inch heels- 2 inch heels are like training wheels for longer heels. Also, find wedges, they're high, but comfy to walk in. That looks like 4 inches to me. Trust me, not comfy for a "first pair" at all. You'll be walking like a duck for hours! oh, wow...I'm 5"7, I can only imagine how tall you would be in those.
I wore heels like those today, or more...tried them on.
and guess what? they killed.
I would wear a less...stiking heel, or a flat.
something less high, not because of the height, bu because of the whole "first pair" concept.

First off I must say, those shoes are super cute! They heels looks somewhere between 3-4 inches.
Looking at the shape of the shoe, and considering the heel isn't too thin, I think you should be able to walk in them just fine.
It will definitely help if you practice, with your other pair, and this pair too -if possible.-
As for you looking like a giant, I think tall girls are sexy (despite being a straight girl.)
If you don't think you have enough practice, when the day has arrived, -as someone else mentioned- possibly bring an extra pair of (comfortable) shoes.
GL! :D

yeah. try wearing something with more support first, like wedges or a thicker heel. and a lower, maybe thicker, heel. those look like their 3-4 inches, so if it's your first time in heel, that may not be a good idea.you don't want to go around spraining an ankle. remember heel, toe, heel, toe. don't just plop them down at the same time. once your weight is on the balls of your feet, shift your weight forward, as if you're walking on your tip toes.
make sure the shoes have enough grip, so your not slipping all over the place.
and i recommend wearing in-soles. and not walking around in them too much.
why don't you go to the mall, try on different shoes and walk around in them?
