Although i know some people prefer lighter jeans, if you would prefer to wear the lighter jeans maybe pick a top not as dark. You could also try wearing pastel colours as these are in at the moment and a light top would go really nice with these jeans. If you go for the pastel colours i would go for a silvery colour of shoes, i have a pair from primark and they go perfectly with lightly coloured jeans. I think what you've picked is nice, simple yet chic. But I think a light grey top would look better with the jeans... it's completely up to you and what style you like. Also shoes, white converse are really in at the moment, or black converse maybe. I think that topshop's T-strap shoes are so adorable! In maybe peach or grey or black even. But they're great!
